Worst service and attitude I have ever experienced. I invited a VIP couple, the dean and wife of a mayor university in Madrid. We arrived at 9:45pm, many empty tables. We ordered three appetizers, one main course and two bottles of wine. The waiter said that according to “House rules” (which they only know what those rules are) we need to order at least two main courses. The arrogant manager came and said we had to leave and pay the bottles of wine, or move to the appetizer area, another “house rule”. The difference between the appetizer and the main course was $6.00. For that amount the manager moved us to the Deli area in the middle of an aisle, they did not serve us the wine and treated us like trash. The bill exceeded $200.00, far more than two main courses.
I have been there many times, usually with large groups and can assure that will never return. Every chance I get, I will tell this story. The arrogance starts with the owner, followed by the Chef and it permeates to the manager and his cronies. I have heard similar stories from ex-regular patrons. Puerto Rico is a very close society, especially at this price range. Word gets out very quickly.
Restaurants are not about the food, it is about the dining experience which I am sure these clowns will soon find out how much their behavior will hurt the business.
